I have been recruited to fight against the Hittites, enemies of Egypt. I have given one spear, no shield, and very little gear which just spot me as an Egyptian warrior. I am a plain pawn. My opponent will yield just a spear too. I have been assigned a young maiden to monitor my combat. Both, she and me are completely novice at battle.
When I engage my opponent he is inexpert too, so we rely on our maidens to give combat instructions. The enemy's maiden is more skillfull than mine, and shortly I become unexpectedly pierced in my ribs. I AM WOUNDED! I let my spear loose and grab my enemy's trying not to let it go deeper. I am in disbelief. My maiden does not know what to say. She looks like bewildered but, inside her, she is turning on and does not know why. My opponent awaits more orders from his maiden, he is also bewildered because he is novice too. On the other hand, his maiden is plenty confident, she is only 18 but has received intensive training since she was 13 as to how to give death to an Egyptian warrior.
The enemy's maiden gives him precise instructions to move so that his spear does not lose grab of my ribs. Their goal is to submit me and make me fall backwards. I am aware of it so I try to resist but, after some struggling at excruciating pain ARRRRGH!, I surrender and fall backwards while my killer still keeps my chest penetrated.
At this point I am doomed, the enemy's maiden instructs him to render me completely submitted, I AM AT HIS MERCY! He plunges his spear deeper UUNNNGH!. Now the wound is mortal! My blood is staining the hot desert sand. I can hardly breathe. AHHH! I AM PIERCED TO DEATH! The enemy's maiden says to mine: YOUR WARRIOR HAS BEEN DEFEATED, AND NOW HE MUST DIE! My maiden nods, almost frozen, horrified but excited at what she is witnessing. IS THIS TRUE? WILL I BE KILLED IN BATTLE?
The enemy's maiden nods her warrior while she smiles triumphant. My enemy is now determined to give me the finishing thrust. NO, THIS CANNOT BE, THIS CAN... UUUUGHHH!
