That's SO not going to work. The neck is extremely flexible bending forward. You can get your chin digging into your chest using only your own neck muscles.

The Spanish garrote vil uses a spike that penetrates the back of the neck and (if the executie is lucky) severs the spinal column. If you want to break the neck, you need the collar above and the pusher below, so that the head is forced backward. You can only get it maybe 20 degrees back before bone starts grindng on bone.
