p******** Andrew Jackson, the only one of our p********s whose administration totally abolished the National Debt, condemned the international bankers as a "den of vipers" which he was determined to "rout out" of the fabric of American life. Jackson claimed that if only the American people understood how these vipers operated on the American scene "there would a revolution before morning."

"Old Hickory" as he was called was one tough S.O.B. He did alot of good as pres. Unfortunatly he is more known for The Trail of Tears. It is a shame really. The folks who orchestrated this act upon Native Americans did so before he had a chance to stop it. He even had an adopted Native American son. The Hermitage in Old Hickory, Tennessee is a really cool place to visit.

He adopted the native baby AFTER he spearheaded an attack on a tribe who wouldn't give up their land. the baby was one of the few survivors. He adopted most likely as a political move. even still he did have the right idea about banking...

It was mainly on the Second Bank of the United States that AJ went after. There were radicals ("Loco-Focos") in the Dem party who wanted to curtail or eliminate banks and corporations, but AJ wasn't among them and they failed to have much of an effect.

There were annual budget surpluses under Clinton, but a large national debt. Jackson paid off the national debt, the only time it's ever been done.
