XRay Luv Forum   How to best go about x-raying a picture?

I haven't been able to find a good guide for picture x-raying. The most I've been able to find out is that adjusting things like color levels, contrast, saturation, etc. helps, but I haven't been able to find a recommended order of steps (like do I start off adjusting the color levels, then the contrast, then brightness, etc.) or if there's a different process for x-raying through different colors of clothing.

Below are links to two pictures I've been trying to x-ray, but my lack of skills prevents me from being able to do anything but change the color of the top. How would you go about x-raying through those colors?

Thanks for posting your question. First of all what program are you using to attempt the xrays? I typically use photoshop. I usually start by changing the levels, and then to get around the color, I select the area I want to xray with the lasso tool and set just it as a new layer, then I change the color of that layer to match the skin color of the girl as close as possible. Then I got back and use the dodge and burn tools to find the highlights around the nipple area. I then go back and change the levels and contrast etc again until it looks natural.

It takes awhile to get the techniques down and for many photos it just simple can't be done. It just takes some time and practice. There are also many good tutorials that can be found online if you have the time to google them. Hopefully when I get the chance I'll post some link in a new thread later. Try adding a link to what you've been able to do so far and maybe I can give some more helpful advice. Thanks for joining the group and good luck with your xrays.

I've been using GIMP, although I MIGHT be able to get Photoshop, if it works much easier (I think I might know someone who has the CD or whatever). Should I already be able to see where the nipples are after adjusting the color levels?
