@Jccummings8405 No easy answer here.
grasshoppers, when hungry, sometimes you don`t need to do anything, sometimes a bit of honey helps, and sometimes they simply don`t want. Mantids, when you put them close to the "meal", usually eat and continue to eat when you let them go, until they have enough. Those, caught in nature, usually don`t need encouragement :) Still, no rule there.

I noticed you compared the mantis to grasshoppers, how do you get them to eat?

@Ironmancbt Thank you :) It's not great, it`s just the beginning, the first meeting of a little creature with human flesh. At the moment it still prefers crickets :)

@koxx2 Hm, it is interesting. They would eat you (al)most tenderly :) Very sharp jaws, slice nicely through the flesh, while grasshoppers` jaws are larger, more robust. My opinion, of course :)
